A 38-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the high-profile jewel heist at the Louvre Museum, news agency AFP reported.

France was brought to a halt on October 19 after jewels valued at 88 million euros ($102 million) were stolen from the Lourve museam. The robbers forced open a window, cut into cases with power tools and fled with eight pieces of the French crown jewels.

The stolen pieces, including treasures once belonging to Empresses Marie-Louise and Eugénie, remain missing.

Surveillance footage captured four men arriving in a truck equipped with a lift, using it to climb through a first-floor window before escaping along the Seine on motor scooters.
Further details on the charges are awaited.
