Piers Morgan reacted to Buckingham Palace's bombshell announcement released on Thursday as King Charles stripped his younger brother, Prince Andrew, of all his titles and honours and evicting him from his royal residence. A formal notice has been served on Andrew to surrender his lease at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, Buckingham Palace said in a statement. It comes amid growing pressure on the King to oust Prince Andrew from the lodge over his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and allegations from Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
The King's statement read: "His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew.
"Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.
"These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.
"Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."
Piers took to X and reacted to the news after sharing a photo of Andrew alongside King Charles.
The 60-year-old penned: "De-Princed. Astonishing."
In a follow up post the Uncensored presenter shared the statement announced by Buckingham Palace.
Piers commented: "This is one of the most extraordinary statements ever released by the Palace. The King has basically turned his brother into a non-Royal."
His 8.9 million followers rushed to comment as one penned, "This is massive essentially, the King has rewritten the rules of the royal family overnight. Stripping a sibling of royal status isn't just personal; it sends a clear message about power, loyalty, and hierarchy. The palace rarely makes moves this dramatic publicly, so the fallout is going to be fascinating to watch."
Another commented: "King brother strips Prince brother of Prince title...the Royal Precedent has been established."
"Andrew turned himself into a non-Royal," a third argued.
It's understood that Prince Andrew will move to a property on the Sandringham Estate.
Any future accommodation will be privately funded by the King.
